About Us

Twenty years!

Here at Stonehenge Designs, we truly love what we do. From taking photos to packing orders to choosing the perfect quotes, we’ve been creating greeting cards with bookmarks since 1996. Our headquarters in Portland is bustling with activity: artsy events every month, friends popping in for a cup of coffee, neighborhood kids and dogs running through to say hello, and, most importantly, lots of boxes filled with cards shipping out every day. It’s all possible because of wonderful, loyal customers like you.

THANK YOU for 20 years! We couldn’t do it without you!

A Card and Bookmark in One

Stonehenge Designs is our two-person greeting card company that started in a basement in 1996. Today, our company headquarters is Stonehenge Studios, situated in the historic Corbett neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. With dozens of sales representatives all over the U.S., our bookmark greeting cards are now sold in over 2,000 stores.

Because we believe in heartfelt connections, we created a warm, open space for our company that doubles as a community gathering space, gallery and event venue, located in the historic building that formerly housed Inkling Studio. Here – surrounded by the work of local artists, our striking wall of cards and 100-year-old floors – we edit our photos, design our card lines and individually fulfill each order.

Whether creating a beautiful greeting card, featuring a baroque music ensemble or hosting a premier storyteller, we always strive to bring joy, meaning and a spirit of community to our world. We hope you’ll stop in for a visit or keep tabs on us virtually and become part of the Stonehenge community!

Jacqueline Jones founded Stonehenge Designs in 1996 after working for sixteen years in television as an engineer and a producer.

Living the life she’d always dreamed of living, the career change allows Jacqueline to travel extensively to Europe, Mexico and Cuba, capturing images that evoke an intimate sense of place. Jacqueline’s keen eye and sensitive perspective invite the viewer to explore quaint villages, busy streets, and the mystery of nature’s gifts.                                                                                    When not running around with her camera, packing orders, or busy planning her next trip to Europe… she tries to make time for her 7 minute exercise app, sings not only in the shower but in her beloved choir, struggles to become more than an intermediate pianist by taking lessons from a dear friend, and entertains in her newly designed outdoor paradise behind her turn of the century Victorian house.

When asked what the most important thing about work, she says that work is play wrapped up with family, friends and love.

Sarah Vandervoort started working at Stonehenge Designs in 2003 as a part-time employee, packing and shipping the first lines of cards and journals back when Stonehenge was a basement operation. Sarah officially joined Stonehenge full time in 2006, bringing her background in photography and design, as well as an abundance of enthusiasm and dedication.

A native of Portland, she's still part Grizzly, having spent formative years in Missoula while earning her degree in Journalism. When Sarah's not at the Studio, she enjoys wiping snotty noses, puddle stomping, and reading the same book 100 times in a row.

A few of Sarah's favorite quotes:
“You will do foolish things but do them with enthusiasm.”

“Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.”
       Dalai Lama

“Bread and water can so easily be toast and tea.”

Sugar, the best dog ever. 1996-2011

Sugar always came to work with Sarah and became a much loved shop dog after we opened our studio in 2010. People stopped in daily to give her a pat and say hello. All the kids in the neighborhood knew her by name, and she was the most popular attendee at all of our events. She was simply the sweetest, happiest, most loyal dog ever. We miss her.
