Jacqueline Jones founded Stonehenge Designs in 1996 after working for sixteen years in television as an engineer and a producer.

Living the life she’d always dreamed of living, the career change allowed Jacqueline to travel extensively to Europe, Mexico and Cuba, capturing images that evoke an intimate sense of place. Jacqueline’s keen eye and sensitive perspective invite the viewer to explore quaint villages, busy streets, and the mystery of nature’s gifts.

It is Jacqueline’s intention that, combined with quotes, her images will offer a universal message of love, hope, and wisdom, with each greeting card encouraging the giver and the receiver to see with neweyes, slow down and experience the beauty of life.

In 2010 Jacqueline opened Stonehenge Studios and began living another dream. Fascinated by the Parisian salons of the early 19th century, she created an inspirational venue where she hosts art openings, poetry readings, intimate concerts and storytelling events.

She is thrilled that Stonehenge Studios has grown into her vision, serving a dual purpose: first as a storefront for Stonehenge Designs, where Stonehenge bookmark cards are sold locally and distributed nationwide to more than 2,000 stores, and as an arts-centered gathering space. The walls of the studio tell their own story, transforming on a regular basis as various local and regional artists are invited to showcase their paintings, photographs and prints. The salon events have quickly become a haven for artists and their audiences, a place where both can indulge their love and appreciation of art.

Sarah Vandervoort started working at Stonehenge Designs in 2003 as a part-time employee, packing and shipping the first lines of cards and journals back when Stonehenge was a basement operation. Sarah officially joined Stonehenge full time in 2006, bringing her expertise in photography and design, as well an embarrasing obsession with lists and spreadsheets. With her enthusiasm and dedication, Sarah helped grow the business, contributing extra optimism through the trials every small business encounters.

A native of Portland, she's still part Grizzly, having spent formative years in Missoula while earning her degree in Journalism. Her photography background and design sense helped mature the Stonehenge line and take it in new directions. Sarah quickly became Jacquie’s collaborator, then a creator and designer in her own right. 

When Sarah's not at the Studio, she loves spending quality time with her sweetie, Patrick, and their two-year-old daughter, Lark, as well as their unruly but lovable dog, Q, and a small flock of urban rooftop chickens.

Sugar, the best dog ever. 1996-2011

Sugar always came to work with Sarah and became a much loved shop dog after we opened our studio in 2010. People stopped in daily to give her a pat and say hello. All the kids in the neighborhood knew her by name, and she was the most popular attendee at all of our events. She was simply the sweetest, happiest, most loyal dog ever. We miss her.
